Introduction: The ScholarRx global curricular initiative aims to provide a framework for a holistic approach to medical education. We recruited seven national and international student organizations to create a consortium called MeSAGE - Medical Student Alliance for Global Education. MeSAGE identifies the topics of the education modules (“Bricks”) through needs assessments and recruits their members - together representing 1.3 million medical students - to develop the content. The first set of Bricks published through MeSAGE are titled "Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)."

Methods: Bricks are self-contained, integrated learning units consisting of illustrated narrative text, and interactive self-assessments delivered through the ScholarRx platform. In September 2019, we conducted a needs assessment among the MeSAGE organizations, and SRHR was identified as the first priority. This topic is not well addressed in standard undergraduate medical education. From this assessment, we developed a collection of eight Bricks. They address subjects such as non-directive counseling, safe abortion, contraception, and gender expression. We will use a Kirkpatrick program evaluation model to measure student utilization and satisfaction with the Bricks. We will also interview faculty implementing the Bricks for qualitative feedback.

Results: We expect to conduct analyses and report findings prior to April 2021.

Conclusion/Implications: As the SRHR Bricks evolve, there will be opportunities to expand the collection, as well as work with individual student organizations and medical schools to adapt the collection to fit their unique needs. The Bricks have the potential to assist in standardizing how these important topics are delivered to medical students across the world.
